I have driven the sister version - Daihatsu Sirion - and I can say that car snobs don't live in the real world. Yes, it's enjoyable to drive. I've just returned from Malaysia where these cars are popular across all economic strata of society there.
They're also the perfect tool for dense traffic too! I am thinking of buying one for my old dad who is finding his ancient Merc a bit of a handful and costly to run.
